Welcome to Sponsorship Saturday, where, every Saturday, I hope to highlight one or more kid living in poverty and in need of sponsorship, in hopes of finding sponsors for them.
Please share these posts so that many people can become aware of people living in poverty and hopefully take action! Sharing is so easy, but can make a world of difference!!
Please note that it is my intention to both help the kids I spotlight, by spreading the word about their needs, and how others can help, and also, to honor the individuals I’m advocating for in my wording and the info I mention here. If you see anything that I’ve missed, or that I could do better to accomplish this goal, you are welcome to let me know in the comments.
Today, I’m sharing with you about Saada, who lives in Niger, and is part of World Vision’s sponsorship program! Visit her sponsorship page here.

Saada is 11 years old, and lives with her father and brother in a rural desert community in Niger.
Many families rely on farming and selling handcrafts to provide food and income, but most people don’t have their basic needs met. In Niger, as many as one in four girls are married before age 15, which takes away their chances for an education and healthy development before having children. Other children are kept at home to help provide income for their families instead of going to school. The schools here aren’t well equipped or well resourced, and though many kids are enrolled in school, not many do well on their national exams
The community doesn’t have access to clean water and sanitation facilities, contributing to poor health. Many kids are growing up malnourished and suffer from preventable diseases and health issues like malaria and anemia.
Her favorite hobbies include group games!
She helps at home with child care and cleaning.
Saada’s dad is currently not employed, so sponsorship is especially important for Saada!
Sponsorship will help Saada and her community receive access to resources and support that will empower them to break the cycle of poverty. Vulnerable families will gain sustainable access to clean water, helping prevent illness. The community will focus on breaking the cycle of child marriage that often results in abuse and kids dropping out of school. The community will be equipped with new health centers and training for health providers and caregivers, stressing the importance of immunizations and regular checkups to keep kids healthy. Through it all, World Vision staff will show God’s love as they care for the most vulnerable children and families.
Saada has been waiting for sponsorship for 7 months.
You can sponsor Saada for $39 a month!

Giving, praying, and sharing are three great ways to help Saada, or another kid living in poverty!
Please do consider sharing this post or sponsoring Saada! I would appreciate it so much!
Of course, sponsorship is not for everyone, but that isn’t the only way to help. Maybe you could share? Maybe you could pray?
Thank you so much for reading!
